About Us

moms in oakvilleWhat is momstown? We're Canada's original national mom network who exist both online and in-person. To a member, momstown is a really organized, modern moms group!

Odds are when you were growing up your mom knew all of your neighbours. Sadly, you probably don't know yours. Although some social conventions have changed, what hasn’t is the need to connect with other local mothers. "They" say it takes a village to raise a child. We say it takes a town. Who resides in the town we fondly call momstown? Well, it’s moms like you.

Founded in August 2007 by moms from Burlington, Ontario, and brought to Kitchener-Waterloo in 2009, momstown has found a niche within our 16 regional communities by providing moms with consistent activities and daily encouragement. momstown uses our website and social media to connect with moms but main our goal is to get moms off the computer and out of the house!

momstown Kitchener-Waterloo coordinates many exclusive events monthly for our members. momstown has a teacher developed educational curriculum focused on early learning and early literacy. Events are weekday, weekend and also include regular evening events for mama only! As part of momstown you'll enjoy events like:

Check out Facebook Page Albums for many more photos of our events!

We have national strategic partnership with Kids CBC, Scholastic Canada, Canadian Red Cross and local organizations like the Kindermusik, Oh Baby Fitness & Belly Buttons - we work together to promote early education and promote community building.

Ann-Marie Burton, the mama owner of momstown, is active in the Halton region and provides assistance to all Community "momstown mamas". momstown’s focus is on neighbourhood connections and our licensee's help each regional chapter grow and adapt with its own members, area and needs.

Won't you be our neighbour? ;)

Welcome to momstown!

Paula Garceau - Owner of momstown Kitchener-Waterloo

I knew from early on that I wanted to be a mother. I also wanted to be a young mom, just like my mom had been. I had hoped to have my children by the age of 25. But then life happened and my life took a different route.

Temporarily. Life happened once again, in a better way this time. I met the right guy and then in June of 2009, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Sydney! Being a mom is the most wonderful experience I have ever had. I quickly realized that this is what I had been waiting for and it was so worth the wait.

And now being a momstown Mama allows me to focus my life around her and enjoy this time in my life. It also gives us the chance to connect with other moms who are embracing motherhood as well. When I think about what I would like to do with my life, family and career, momstown checks all those boxes for me. So glad to be part of the town and look forward to meeting everyone!
