With all the cool weather and rain this past month its been difficult to get a nice day to go outside with the babies. momstown Kitchener-Waterloo members finally got outside this week during the Rhyme, Rhythm an Read program for some fun with parachutes!
We sang some songs including “Zoom Zoom” and Toe Knee Chestnut” to start us off. We also read the book “Please Don’t Take My Sunshine Away” which is always a favourite.
We then pulled out the parachute and sang some songs such as “If Your Happy and You Know It” and “Row Your Boat”. The rhyme “Popcorn is a great one to use with some balls on the parachute to be the popcorn. The babes then all took turns sitting on the parachute with a partner. We shook the parachute gently and blew some bubble for great visual stimulation. Everyone had a blast!
Scholastic Canada also sponsored us again this summer and we were able to give away a couple great books! Kristen and Hailey were the winners of “Five Hungry Pandas” along with Tamara and Noah winning the book “Ten Tiny Toes”. Enjoy your new books!!
