Looking for a fun activity to get your children walking around their neighbourhood or park, exploring their surroundings and even practice their matching skills? Take them on a Scavenger Hunt with Daniel Tiger from Kids CBC and guide them in their very own neighbourhod adventure!
How to Create a Neighbourhood Scavenger Hunt:
If you would prefer to be in a park, print an extra copy of the scavenger hunt and cut out all the items and glue them to an object like a stick (or a tree) and place them around the park (I glued them to chop sticks but wooden dowels from the dollar store would work great too). Let the children discover and explore the park while finding all the items on their list. This is a great adaptation for little ones especially. A great way for them to safely feel independent and accomplished.
Children love to discover. Their sense of imagination always makes for a fun adventure. Use these ideas to customize for your own neighbourhood (farm animals?) or for any theme or occasion!
