Cold and flu season is upon us, and with all the extra worries that come with this time of year, it is always handy to have a list available of local clinics and hours, just in case you need to make a last minute run with your little ones when they get sick. It is also important to remember that although this is a handy list, it does not cover all the clinics available and you can also go to the Region of Waterloo Public Health website for more clinics in our area.
It is also good to check with your family doctor, if you have one, to see if they have a clinic they have a connection with. If they do have a clinic they prefer you use it could mean shorter wait times, and sometimes if you do not use their suggested clinic they may drop you as a patient, so be sure to check with your own doctor first.
These ones can be quite busy, but have really convenient locations and if you arrive when they first open you may not have to wait too long. They also are open on holidays and have nearly full days for weekend hours. Their website also has a lot of information on their services, tips and other resources.

Weber Medical Centre & Walk In Clinic
This clinic might not have weekend hours, but they do have rare evening hours, so if you need to take the kids after school to a clinic, this could be your place. Their website talks about the services available including travel clinics, flu shots and basic broken bones.

Cambridge Walk-in Clinic
There are limited options in Cambridge for those that are not with certain doctors in the region. This is a rare option for those families who do not have a doctor in Cambridge and although it has limited hours, the location is easy to get to.

The Doctor’s Office Walk-in Clinic
This clinic can get very busy on the weekend as it is located near both universities, but it does offer weekend hours, which can be tough to find. They also have a second location located in the Walmart at Ira Needles, but that location does not offer weekend hours.
Hours: Monday – Friday 9 am – 8 pm, Saturdays 10 am – 4 pm, Sundays 10 am – 3 pm
Location: 170 University Avenue West, University Shops Plaza, Waterloo
Phone: 519-725-1514
Just in case
Should the time come where you need to take your little one to the hospital for something more serious, some of our local hospitals have their wait times listed online so that you know how much you need to prepare for (packing a whole lunch or just some snacks for the wait), or find the hospital that has a smallest wait.
Grand River Hospital – 835 King St. West, Kitchener
St. Mary's Hospital – 911 Queen’s Boulevard, Kitchener
Although they don't have their wait times online
Cambridge Memorial – 700 Coronation Blvd., Cambridge
